The Sanderling is a small species of sandpiper. They have a large natural range which includes the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Australia. They are long-distant migrants. Sanderlings are small wading birds. During the summer, they breed on islands and coastal areas in the high Arctic. They summer on sandy beaches in warmer climates.
