Blue-winged Teals are small dabbling ducks that live in parts of the Americas. These migratory ducks are among the latest birds to arrive on their breeding grounds in the spring, and among the first to leave again in the fall. They are named for the blue patch on their wings that is seen in flight on both males and females. Swimming males, like our cute Birdorable version seen here, are easily recognized by the crescent of white feathers on their face.
