Dark-eyed Juncos are small birds of the sparrow family. They are typically dark in the head and back, and light in the chest area. There are several sub-species of this cute little bird. This is the Oregon sub-species of the Dark-eyed Junco. They have very dark heads, with brown backs and wings. Their flanks are brown to reddish. These juncos live in the western part of North America.
