Wood Ducks are a species of waterfowl that live across much of North America. Males sport unmistakably multicolored plumage which includes an iridescent green head, rusty red breast, and a red eye. Female Wood Ducks typically lay up to 14 eggs, but a nest may include 40 eggs or more, laid by different individuals. Nests are usually close to water in a tree cavity or a nest box. The nestlings will leave the nest for water just one day after hatching. They are able to feed themselves almost immediately! This is our totally cute Birdorable Wood Duck!
