Black-billed Magpie

About the Black-billed Magpie
Also known as: American Magpie, Magpie
Black-billed Magpie

The Black-billed Magpie is a species in the corvid family that lives in western parts of North America. They have a shiny black plumage with white shoulder, belly, and primary feathers. Feathers on the wings and tail have an iridescent green sheen.

Black-billed Magpies are very similar in appearance to European Magpies. The two are still considered to be the same species by some taxonomies.

The Black-billed Magpie is an omnivore, as are most corvids. In addition to eating a wide variety of foods, magpies may store or hoard food items for future consumption.
