Black-chinned Hummingbird

The Black-chinned Hummingbird lives across western portions of North America. They range down into Mexico and Central America, where they spend the winter.

Male Black-chinned Hummingbirds have a black face and chin, with a glossy purple throat band. Both sexes have metallic green backs and white breasts. Black-chinned Hummingbirds feed on flower nectar and insects caught on the wing.
