Chipping Sparrow
The Chipping Sparrow is a North American species of sparrow, with a range that covers much of the continent. Though they like to forage on the ground, Chipping Sparrows are often found in wooded habitat like parks, forests, and even urban yards with trees.

Chipping Sparrows feed on seeds year-round, as well as berries. During the summer they feed on insects as well, as a source of protein during breeding season.

Chipping Sparrows typically nest low in shrubs or trees, but are known to have placed nests in strangely atypical locations, like inside open man-made structures or on the ground.
