The Common Wood Pigeon is a large species of pigeon found in parts of Europe and Asia. They are found in a variety of habitats, from woodland, parks and gardens, and even urban areas.

Outside of breeding, when pairs defend a nesting territory, the Common Wood Pigeon is a gregarious species. There may be thousands of birds congregated in a winter feeding flock.
