European Greenfinch

The Greenfinch is a small bird that lives throughout Europe, northern parts of Africa, and southwestern Asia. They are named for their green body plumage; they also have yellow feathers on the edges of the wings. Males are typically brighter in color than females.

Greenfinches have typical finch beaks, conical in shape. Like other birds of the finch family, they feed primarily on seeds. They may also feed on berries.

Greenfinches are feeder birds in their range, common visitors to garden feeding stations throughout Europe.
