About the Maguari Stork
Also known as: American Stork
Maguari Stork
The Maguari Stork is a species of stork found in eastern parts of South America. This species is closely related to the White Stork of the Old World.

Maguari Storks prefer to live in open wet areas, like marshes, mudflats, and other types of wetlands. They feed by foraging in shallow water and take on a variety of prey items, including worms, snakes, small mammals, fish, and frogs.

Different from other storks, Maguari Storks make their grass- and reed-constructed nest on the ground near shallow water. They nest in colonies typically consisting of between 5 and 15 nests.
