Rose-breasted Grosbeak

About the Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Also known as: Common Grosbeak
Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are songbirds named for the dark patch of red on adult male birds, and for their large, seed-crushing beaks. Females have different plumage, resembling large sparrows or drab finches.

Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are migratory, breeding across northeastern parts of North America, and wintering in Central America and northern South America.

Rose-breasted Grosbeaks construct flimsy nests in trees or shrubs. Both adult birds share incubation duties.
