About the Storm's Stork
Storm's Stork
Storm’s Stork is a species of stork found in tropical forest habitat across parts of Southeast Asia. This endangered bird is thought to be the rarest of the world’s storks, facing the main threat of habitat loss through deforestation. As of 2012, there were thought to be fewer than 500 wild individuals.

Storm's Storks can be recognized by their heavy red bills, yellow eye ring, and mostly black plumage. They have reddish legs and feet.

The Storm's Stork is named after the German sea captain Hugo Storm.
