Also known as: Masked Lovebird, Eye Ring Lovebird
The Yellow-collared Lovebird is a small species of parrot native to northeastern Tanzania. They are also found in neighboring Burundi and Kenya.
Yellow-collared Lovebirds are known for the large white ring around each of their eyes, giving the birds the appearance of wearing a mask. In fact, they are also known as Masked Lovebirds or Eye Ring Lovebirds.
The Yellow-collared Lovebird is one of the smaller species of lovebird. Their diet is mainly seed with fresh fruit and vegetables. They are traditionally popular in aviculture, and certain mutations of this species are among the oldest in the pet trade.
