The White-faced Whistling-Duck is a species of waterfowl found on both sides of the world – they range across sub-Saharan Africa and across a huge portion of South America. On both continents they are found around freshwater habitat, like lakes and reservoirs. They feed on aquatic vegetation.

White-faced Whistling-Ducks can be recognized by their chestnut body plumage, highlighted by fine white bars along the flanks. They also have black necks and the namesake white faces.
