Blue-footed Booby

About the Blue-footed Booby

Also known as: Blue Booby

The Blue-footed Booby is one of seven species of Boobies in the world. The name "booby" comes from the Spanish term "bobo", which means "stupid". It was given this name because of its clumsy walking on land. They can be found on the west coast of North and South American and they breed on tropical and subtropical islands in the Pacific Ocean, most famously on the Galápagos Islands.

Blue Boobies are strict marine birds. They only come to land to breed along rocky coats.
