The White-spectacled Bulbul is a medium-sized songbird native to parts of the Middle East, including Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and surrounding regions. It thrives in a variety of habitats, from gardens and orchards to scrublands and dry woodlands. Its adaptability to urban and rural environments makes it a common sight across its range.

This bulbul gets its name from the distinctive white ring around each eye, giving it a "spectacled" appearance. Its plumage is mostly dull brown to olive above, with a paler underside. A small black crest sits atop its head, and it has a noticeable yellow patch under its tail, which is often visible when the bird flicks it.

White-spectacled Bulbuls are social and often seen in pairs or small flocks, especially at good feeding sites. Their call is a mix of chirps, whistles, and bubbling notes, and they are quite vocal throughout the day. They feed on fruits, berries, insects, and occasionally nectar, helping with seed dispersal in their ecosystems.

Nesting typically occurs in dense shrubs or trees, where the female lays 2–4 eggs. Both parents participate in raising the young, which fledge within two weeks after hatching.
