The Cowbird

Brown-headed Cowbirds are brood parasites; they lay their eggs in the nests of other birds. Their involvement doesn't necessariy end with egg-laying, however. Brown-heaed Cowbirds have been observed "farming" their hosts and engaging in retaliation when their eggs are destroyed or the host nest is abandoned.
