Black Phoebe
About the Black Phoebe
Also known as: Black Flycatcher, San Lucas Phoebe, San Quintin Phoebe
Black Phoebes have black upperparts and a white belly. They range across far western parts of the United States, across Central America, and in western South America.
Like most birds in the flycatcher family, Black Phoebes feed mainly on insects. They also feed on small fish and may even feed minnows to their growing babies in the nest.
