The Hawaiian Goose, called Nene in Hawaii, is a threatened species of waterfowl that once thrived on the Pacific island state. Today the Nene numbers 800 wild birds after a captive breeding program began in the 1950's. At that time the wild population was down to just about 30 individuals. This is our totally cute Birdorable Nene, or Hawaiian Goose.
