We're celebrating the gulls of the world this week! These social, intelligent birds can be found all over the world. Today we're sharing some fun gull coloring pages!

Gulls tend to have a lot of black, white, and grey in their plumage. The breeding plumage Ross's Gull, for example, is pale grey above and white below. They also develop a pink wash to the breast that is absent other parts of the year. Their feet and legs are red! Heermann's Gull has a different look from other gulls. The body is grey with black-to-grey wings and a red bill with a black tip. We've also included a coloring page of the famous Lesser Black-backed Gull Pierre, who is wearing his distinctive green color band.

This week, we’re celebrating the world’s kingfishers! There are about 90 species of kingfisher in the world. These darling birds are often colorful, and they can be found all around the world. Here is some hump-day fun for this mid-Kingfisher-week. Kingfishers are among the most colorful birds in the world. The Common Kingfisher, found across parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa, is one of the most widespread kingfisher species. With its beautiful blue body plumage highlighted by rufous and white, it is known as the most colorful bird of Great Britain. The Belted Kingfisher is common across much of North America. Females of the species are more colorful; they sport a rufous breast band in addition to a mostly slate-blue body plumage. The Stork-billed Kingfisher, found in parts of Asia, has a lovely muted color palette that includes blue, brown, buff, and red.

International Vulture Awareness Day (IVAD) is coming up soon! This Saturday, September 1, people all over the world will celebrate vultures. We've launched a new vulture landing page just in time for IVAD. Here you'll find links to all of our Birdorable vultures. We've got 23, representing all of the Old World and New World vultures found in the world. We've also got free downloadable coloring pages for each of the 23 vultures. The sheets have a few fun facts about each species, plus key color tips, in case you want your vulture to be true to life! Of course, we encourage creativity in coloring, too.
